A new arrival at Beardsley Zoo has been given a name after public voting.

The zoo's first-ever red panda cub is officially named Pabu.

Pabu is the Tibetan word meaning “fluffball.”

The cub's birth was part of a nationwide breeding program to protect the endangered species.

Pabu is still being cared for behind the scenes, but he will eventually join his parents in the zoo's red panda habitat.
