Bayonne Little League fans warned about unofficial team gear
Bayonne Little League is warning fans to think twice before buying team merchandise online. In a recent post on Facebook, the league issued a warning about gear being sold at inflated prices through online stores. "Bayonne Little League does not have an online store. Any merchandise that is replicated or includes our likeness is strictly prohibited and is being sold without our consent," the league said. The notice comes as the Bayonne Fighting Bees continue their Little League World Series run in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. "We have seen websites selling T-shirts in excess of $100 along with other merchandise," the league said. "These online stores are not affiliated with Bayonne Little League and is a violation of Little League International Copyright." The team has been selling shirts and gear at the Little League field during hours designated on its Facebook page. Fans are urged to purchase shirts from the team, rather than unofficial online stores.
Throughout Bayonne, fans continue to show support for the team. The Bees fell 6-0 to Davenport, Iowa, Sunday, but its championship hopes remain alive. Bayonne's next game is Tuesday against the winner of Monday's Great Lakes vs. Southwest Game.
