Nassau police arrested a Baldwin man who they say stabbed a 63-year-old man on Friday afternoon.

Detectives say officers responded to a disturbance just before 4 p.m. at a home in Baldwin where they say 38-year-old Sanjay Sean Singh was arguing with the victim.

They say the argument erupted and Sean Singh stabbed the man on the back with a knife and slashed his face before he left the scene.

Officers later located Sean Singh nearby and arrested him without incident.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Detectives say Sean Singh was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Sean Singh was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.

Police say there was no relationship between Sean Singh and the victim.
