New Jersey State Police and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Byram Township near a Boy Scout reservation.
The call came in around 3:30 p.m. Monday near a wooded area near the Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation. Full details about the shooting were not immediately released.
State PBA president Peter Andreyev wrote on social media that the officers involved in the shooting are at a hospital being evaluated.
“Please pray for the officers involved. Thank you to all who reached out to check on our officers,” Andreyev wrote.
The president did not provide further details about the shooting.
Video from the scene shows that investigators were focused on a red sedan in a wooded area. There appeared to be several firearms in the area of the vehicle.
