An Atlantic City man was sentenced to five years in New Jersey state prison for robbing and shooting at a taxi driver.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced that 26-year-old Davidson Dominique was sentenced on Sept. 29 after facing robbery and firearms charges.

In April, Dominique took a taxi from Ocean Casino to his requested location, near Route 30 and New Jersey Avenue.

When they arrived, Dominique robbed the driver at gunpoint. The victim handed over $100 and his phone, and Dominique attempted to flee.

When the victim started to follow him, Dominique shot at the taxi, hitting the windshield on the passenger side.
