Spring Valley police say an arrest was made one day after a man was found dead in an abandoned building
Police say Christian Guzman-Loera has been charged with second-degree murder for a homicide that happened in an abandoned building at 10 Centre St.in Spring Valley.
According to a felony complaint, sometime Tuesday or Wednesday the 26-year-old homeless man used a piece of wood to hit another man in the head and body, and then left him in the freezing temperatures.
Guzman-Loera has been arraigned and remanded to Rockland County Jail.
A local business says there have been issues with homeless people in this building.
Spring Valley police say one of their officers on patrol was flagged down Wednesday morning by someone who found the man's body inside.
        He was pronounced dead there.
No other information about the victim or his identity has been shared yet by police.
Spring Valley police encourage anyone with information about this case to reach out to them even though an arrest has been made.
