An arrest was made in the killing of a man who was found stabbed to death inside his West Farms home last year, the NYPD says.

Angel Aquino was taken into custody and charged with murder nearly a year after he allegedly killed 58-year-old Jose Burgos inside an apartment on Elsmere Place.

Police sources tell News 12 Aquino, 28, of Manhattan, took off from the crime scene and left Burgos' apartment door unlocked. Officers discovered the 58-year-old's body at around 10:30 a.m. on June 16, 2025.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner ruled Burgos' death a homicide days later. The findings say he suffered stab wounds to his torso and upper extremities.

The connection between Burgos and Aquino remains a mystery as of Tuesday evening.
