6m agoU.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has postponed her visit to Raleigh following the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.
The postponement was first reported by The New York Times on Thursday. She told reporters that she was rescheduling a planned rally in Raleigh out of respect for Kirk and for security concerns.
According to the Raleigh newspaper, The News & Observer, Ocasio-Cortez was scheduled to speak at a rally with the North Carolina Democratic Party on Sunday. The rally is a stop in a national “Fighting Oligarchy” tour with Sen. Bernie Sanders.
