Mayor Zohran Mamdani spoke out against the early Saturday morning attack on X, calling it “an illegal war of aggression.”

Mamdani, who has been outspoken about his criticism of Israel, warns that this action opens a "new theatre of war."

He spoke directly to Iranian New Yorkers in his social media post.

"You are part of the fabric of this city — you are our neighbors, small business owners, students, artists, workers, and community leaders. You will be safe here."

Mamdani also ensured he has been taking proactive safety measures for all New Yorkers.
