Amazon workers in New York, California, Illinois and Georgia have gone on strike this morning.

The Teamsters union and the company failed to reach a deal this week.

The company says right now the strike does not appear to directly affect holiday deliveries.

Connecticut lawmakers are pushing for Amazon workers safety in the wake of a new report from Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Sanders released a 160-page report on Sunday that highlighted internal Amazon studies of injury rates and safety procedures.

The company released a statement on its website denying the report's findings and alleging that Sanders "continues to mislead the American public."

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who has joined union organizers in picketing Amazon facilities in Connecticut in the past year, said, "enough is enough."

Amazon issued the following statement this morning:

“For more than a year now, the Teamsters have continued to intentionally mislead the public – claiming that they represent ‘thousands of Amazon employees and drivers’. They don’t, and this is another attempt to push a false narrative. The truth is that the Teamsters have actively threatened, intimidated, and attempted to coerce Amazon employees and third-party drivers to join them, which is illegal and is the subject of multiple pending unfair labor practice charges against the union."
