Amazon is planning to build its largest operations facility on Long Island in Holbrook.

The proposal for the 4-million-square-foot facility was filed with the Town of Islip on Thursday afternoon.

Amazon wants to put the site near the Sunrise Highway Service Road and Beacon Drive.

“The application will undergo a formal review process in accordance with applicable federal, state, county, and local laws and regulations, including the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA)," said a Town of Islip spokesperson in a statement. "Receipt of an application does not constitute approval or indicate any determination regarding the merits of the proposal."

The development would generate about 1,000 full-time jobs and contribute an estimated $1 billion in local investment, according to Amazon officials.
