Many displaced tenants from a five-alarm fire Friday at 2910 Wallace Ave. in Allerton say they're concerned about their future.
The American Red Cross of Greater New York told News 12 that since the fire, it has registered 101 households and 285 individuals with emergency services who were left homeless by the overnight fire on Friday.
News 12 was at Residence Inn by Marriott on Eastchester Road where 20 families are being temporarily housed.
“Funds are really tight. We are hanging on to what we have,” said Jasmine Chico, who is staying there with her two daughters.
Some tenants say they are getting conflicting information about how long they can stay.
The Red Cross says some displaced families are scheduled to meet with case workers on Monday to help them get back on their feet and find permanent housing.
