All lanes are open Friday after crews completed repairs on a sinkhole that caused major traffic trouble in Yonkers.

Officials say the sinkhole opened Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Central Park and Yonkers avenues due to water main break.

Yonkers Department of Public Works Commissioner Thomas Meier says the water main break was fixed later that day.

Water service was also restored for those living in the area.

Crews worked throughout the day Thursday to repair the road, applying a binder coat of asphalt followed by a final layer.
