Adventure Aquarium in Camden will debut its first-ever Shark & Ray Summer program next month, expanding its annual shark-themed event with new exhibits, interactive activities and behind-the-scenes experiences.
The event runs from July 13 through Aug. 16 and highlights sharks and rays through immersive exhibits, educational talks and family-friendly entertainment. The expanded program follows the recent arrival of five spotted eagle rays to the aquarium’s Ocean Realm exhibit.
New attractions include eagle ray presentations, a shark and ray laboratory with hands-on activities, themed games, a singalong and dance party featuring the aquarium’s mascot Gill the Shark, a puppet show and new family photo opportunities.
The aquarium will also offer limited-time Shark Feed Tours, giving guests behind-the-scenes access to shark feedings in Shark Realm and Ocean Realm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Adventure Aquarium is also introducing “Sunset with the Sharks,” its first adults-only Shark & Ray Summer event. The 21-and-over after-hours program is scheduled for July 24 and will feature sunset views of the Philadelphia skyline.
Aquarium officials said the program is designed to educate visitors about the role sharks and rays play in ocean ecosystems while highlighting conservation efforts to protect the species.
