Mayor Eric Adams held a campaign kickoff event today on the steps of City Hall.
Adams announced his reelection bid surrounded by faith leaders and took jabs at Zohran Mamdani.
"I'm fighting for everyday New Yorkers who just want their city to darn work for them, and that's what we're doing," Adams said. "And I'm fighting for small property owners. You have individuals who are running for mayor who are saying no rent. Those small property owners are losing their homes, and many of them are Black and brown."
Protesters gathered at the event and accused Adams of being a criminal.
This is a developing story.
