AAA is encouraging revelers to plan ahead on how they will get home on New Year’s Eve.

Impaired driving is at its highest on New Year’s Eve, according to AAA. Having a designated driver, using mass transit or using ride share apps are good options to consider.

If hosting a New Year’s Eve party, offer guests to spend the night. If someone is trying to drive after drinking, take their keys and get them home safely.

State and local police are also on the lookout for drunken drivers on New Year’s Eve.
