An 80-year-old man was killed Friday after his car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a pickup truck in Marlboro.
Police responded shortly after 11:45 a.m. to Route 79 at Blossom Avenue, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
The prosecutor's office said the man, who was from the Whiting section of Manchester Township, was driving a Toyota Camry Solara south on Route 79 when his car crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a Ford F-350.
The pickup was being driven north by a 52-year-old man from the Port Monmouth section of Middletown.
The Toyota driver was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The pickup driver did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, the county's Serious Collision Analysis Response Team and Marlboro police.
