The nonprofit 500 Men Making a Difference is hosting its 15th annual 72 hours of service this weekend in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The 72 hours began at 11 p.m. Friday and will last until 11 p.m. Monday night. Throughout that time, volunteers will be making different repairs at the Westminster Bethany United Presbyterian Church in Bed-Stuy.
"The church is a beacon of light to the whole community, to the whole neighborhood – so we’re here trying to fix up the fellowship hall. Renovate and paint it, and bring whatever kind of newness we can to the space," said Cyriac St. Vil.
