Five trapped kittens were rescued from a storm drain Wednesday in Whiting, according to fire officials
Crews responded to Hudson Parkway after receiving a request from Animal Control just before 9 p.m.
They then entered the drain and safely removed the group of kittens.
Officials say the kittens were transferred to an on-duty Animal Control officer.
