2h agoCommunity members honored the NYPD detective killed in the mass shooting at a building in Midtown Manhattan with a vigil on Friday night.
Detective Didarul Islam was among four people killed in the shooting Monday. Islam was off duty when he was killed, working a security detail in uniform.
The 47th Precinct in Edenwald, where Islam served, honored his memory with a vigil.
Loved ones and colleagues gathered Thursday for his funeral, where he was promoted to detective posthumously. Islam's body was carried out of a Parkchester mosque and taken to New Jersey for burial.
