A ceiling collapse at the IHOP on Ralph Avenue in Flatlands caused minor injuries to four people Friday morning. The Department of Buildings says a 10-by-10-inch section of the ceiling collapsed due to possible water damage. "As I'm sitting down, I start hearing noises," said Jamie Lee, who witnessed the ordeal. "And when I turn around, the entire ceiling was collapsing. So I was immediately trying to get out. You know, I come to eat here. And I should have been safe while enjoying my meal. And I wasn't ... I could have been potentially hurt worse than what I am now." The manager of the IHOP says the four customers with minor injuries are expected to be OK. A sign on the door indicates a vacate order as the situation is investigated.
