A 4-alarm fire Thursday night left massive destruction along a strip of businesses on East Gun Hill Road in the Bronx.
The FDNY says the fire broke out just before midnight in the attic of 1234 East Gun Hill Rd., between Pearsall and Throop avenues. It was upgraded to 4 alarms within 30 minutes, bringing hundreds of firefighters to battle the flames. It took them 2½ hours to bring the fire under control.
Fire officials tell News 12 one firefighter was hospitalized with minor injuries and is expected to be OK.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
