The names of 36 people have been added to the FDNY’s World Trade Center Memorial Wall in Brooklyn.
Those names belong to service members who rescued people after the Sept. 11 attacks and later died of 9/11-related illnesses.
The new additions come as the department prepares to recognize the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
"The passage of time doesn't lessen the loss. The empty chair at the table; the missed birthdays and anniversaries. The milestones that that they never got to celebrate. Those absences remain,” said FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore.
