3 men indicted for allegedly hitting NYPD officer with stolen car
Three men were indicted for allegedly hitting two police cars and driving directly into an officer.
Officials say two of the suspects are from the Bronx and one is from Brooklyn. Police say the incident happened on Oct. 25 after police identified their vehicle as stolen inside a parking lot near the intersection of East Tremont Avenue and Boston Road in the Bronx.
Officials say the driver, 29-year-old Sanlli Rodriguez, repeatedly ignored orders to surrender, hitting NYPD Officer Joseph Parisi so hard he went over the hood of the car and landed on the pavement. Parisi suffered pain, bruising and swelling to his body.
The stolen vehicle, a 2023 Lexus IS 500, was later recovered, and 10 stolen catalytic converters were found inside, according to officials.
Rodriguez is being indicted on multiple assault and stolen-property charges.
The other men in the car, Eddison Abreu, 29, and Lunden Hunter, 37, were also indicted on second-degree stolen property and assault charges.
