3h agoA 23-year-old man was killed by an intoxicated 71-year-old driver Friday night in Hempstead, Nassau police say.
It happened while the man was crossing North Franklin Avenue around 11:30 p.m. when he was struck by a Jeep Gladiator. The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Nassau police say Jose Forero, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.
