Fire damages Stratford home

The Bridgeport, Nichols, Shelton and Milford fire departments provided coverage due to the large volume of the fire.

A fire damaged a Stratford home Thursday afternoon.
The fire occurred at 1640 South Ave.
The Stratford Fire Department say all 22 company firefighters were on scene within minutes at the time of the fire.
The Bridgeport, Nichols, Shelton and Milford fire departments provided coverage due to the large volume of the fire.
Stratford EMS were also on scene and transported one firefighter for treatment.
The Red Cross assisted residents who self-evacuated and were displaced at the time of the fire.
Firefighters are reminding residents to have working smoke detectors, practice an escape plan and call 911 immediately when discovering smoke or fire.
