Get ready to rock in Westchester County, the 20th annual Pleasantville Music Festival. It's happening tomorrow and lots of excitement already building up. News 12 that Katerina Balala is live at Parkway Field with a sneak peek of what's in store for us. Hey Cat. that's why lots of excitement is brewing as final preparations are underway for the Pleasantville Music Festival. Joining me right now is the mayor of Pleasantville, Peter Shearer. Thank you so much for joining us this morning. Thank you for coming. Of course thanks for having us. Tell us a little bit from your perspective as the mayor what it means to put on this event every single year. So here's what it means. When I'm out and around and people find out I'm the mayor of Pleasantville, people say routinely, Oh wow, the Pleasantville Music Festival. That is so great. I mean, it's over these 20 years, it's become a sort of piece of our brand. So many people in the community think it's the best day of the year. It's a tough venture to put together with about 400 volunteers. And at one point our parks and DPW staff today, for example, pretty much turned upside down to make it happen, but when it happens, it's a pretty magical day here in Pleasantville. Yes, and you were telling me just how much preparation goes into this. So from your perspective as mayor, what, what, tell me about the preparations. Tell me about what it takes to get this magical event up here in Pleasantville. So it goes on for quite a few months. Bruce Figler, the executive director, is working on it pretty much all the time for a long time, but our village hall staff is assisting in 1000 ways, working on Vendor village, working on all the paperwork, insurance, all of that sort of stuff, the booking of the bands, the contracts, as you might imagine, there's a whole lot of stuff there. But I will say it's also an opportunity for folks to step out of their regular day to day grind and do something that in the end produces a day that feels like a pretty exciting thing, very exciting, and we're going to be speaking with both you and Bruce within the next hour. A lot of people are going to be going and like you said, a lot of excitement is brewing in the air for New York's Backyard Jam. Yes, so tell us a little bit about the preparation that goes into an event like this, especially for its 20th anniversary. Well, first of all, there's a lot of people who are part of the preparation, not just me, and it goes on for months and months before the festival, like 9 months. And so tell me about what, you know, festival attendees can expect tomorrow in terms of all the different bands and singers they're going to be seeing. Well, every person who comes here is going to find a band that is in their jam, so to speak. You know, we have bands from all different eras playing all different types of music, and there's this community vibe, and it's a music festival, but you can go right up to the stage and really get up close and personal, so to speak, with the various bands. That's awesome, and I understand there are going to be more activities here besides just listening to music, isn't that right? Oh yeah, there's stuff for kids. There's vendors with all kinds of food and crafts. It's a full day experience that is more than just the music, which is going to be incredible itself. That sounds awesome. And Bruce, we're going to be speaking to you later on in the morning about more when it comes to the 20th anniversary and just the history behind the Pleasantville Music Festival.
