Two people have been hospitalized, one critically, following a fire at a Highbridge apartment building. According to the FDNY, the fire broke out just before 10 p.m. Wednesday at 1040 Anderson Ave. The FDNY says there were about 60 firefighters and EMS workers on scene. They were able to get the fire under control in about 30 minutes. A car was also seen parked at a hydrant and the hose used by firefighters was on top of that car and stretched over to the home. As the FDNY has reported many times, it is important drivers do not park in hydrant spots because in fires every second counts.
