Two firefighters were seriously hurt while responding to a blaze Tuesday morning in Queens.
Authorities say the flames erupted inside the two-story building at 1824 Madison St.
Crews arrived at the scene just before 3:30 a.m. and declared it a five-alarm fire around an hour later.
The two firefighters were hospitalized for treatment.
One person also sustained minor injuries, according to authorities.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
Fire officials say the response operation is ongoing.
