        2-alarm fire sends heavy smoke over Eastern Parkway

        The FDNY says they received the call at 11:38 p.m. about a fire on the third floor of the four-story apartment building.

        A two-alarm fire broke out late Monday night at 379 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, sending thick smoke into the air and lighting up the night with flames.
        The FDNY says they received the call at 11:38 p.m. about a fire on the third floor of the four-story apartment building.
        Over 100 firefighters and EMS personnel responded, working quickly to contain the flames.
        Video taken from a nearby building shows heavy smoke billowing and flames glowing from the structure.
        Crews battled the fire for about an hour before bringing it under control at 12:43 a.m.
        The FDNY reports no injuries, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
        The American Red Cross says it has registered one household with two adults for emergency assistance, including temporary lodging and financial aid due to the fire.
