A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Bay Shore, Suffolk police said.

The crash happened just before 6:30 p.m. on Sunrise Service Road near Atlantic Avenue.

The boy was taken to a hospital. It was unclear what kind of treatment he is receiving.

Details surrounding the crash have not yet been released by authorities.

News 12 reported Friday about a Bellport man who was fatally hit while walking on the Sunrise Highway service road near the Brentwood Road overpass, minutes from where 16-year-old was struck.
