Two juveniles have been charged in connection with a burglary that targeted two popular Newburgh businesses.
Police say officers responded to 257 Liberty Street on Sept. 9 after receiving a report of a burglary that occurred the previous night.
Investigators say Hudson Valley Cheesecake and Triple Shot Coffee, which operate out of the same building, were targeted.
According to police, two offenders forced their way into the building, damaged property and stole items from inside.
The City of Newburgh Police Department Detective Division investigated the case, with Detective M. Rude assigned as lead investigator.
On Sept. 24, detectives arrested two City of Newburgh residents, ages 12 and 15.
Both juveniles were charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
Police say the pair also face second-degree menacing charges in connection with a separate, unrelated incident.
The juveniles were released pending appearances in Family Court.
Because of their ages, police are not releasing any additional information.
