Thanks to the quick actions of Officer Dave Brosonski, an 11-year-old boy was rescued after falling through the ice at Franklin Lake Monday afternoon.

Officer Brosonski was the first responder on the scene, finding the child stranded in the middle of the lake.

Without hesitation, he jumped into the icy water to retrieve the boy and bring him safely to shore.

The West Long Branch Police Department has commended Officer Brosonski for his bravery and heroic actions in this life-saving rescue.
