The search is on this morning for a person accused of shooting a gun in a small Nassau County neighborhood in broad daylight.

The shooting happened in the vicinity of Owasco Road in Lakeview around 1:45 p.m. yesterday, Nassau County police said.

One neighbor said he was home when he saw police officers swarm the residential street.

Video from the scene showed investigators focusing on one home in particular. Officers were seen walking inside and outside of the house as well as dusting windows for evidence.

Police said one person sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The circumstances of how or where the victim was shot are still unclear.

News 12 asked Nassau County police whether the victim was targeted or an innocent bystander and was told the investigation is ongoing.
