One person suffered serious injuries in a fire that spread to two apartments in Morris Heights Wednesday morning.

The FDNY responded to a fire at 1484 Montgomery Ave. at 7:45 a.m.  

A fire broke out in an apartment on the fourth floor and extended to an adjoining apartment.  

The fire escalated to a two-alarm fire at 8:20 a.m.  

About 141 fire and EMS personnel responded to the flames.  

One person was transported by EMS to Jacobi Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.  

Crews are still on scene.
