One person was killed during a fire Saturday morning in Newark, according to authorities.

Officials say it happened around 3 a.m. at 282 Schley St.

Two additional individuals were transferred to a local hospital and are in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
