Loved ones gathered for an emotional vigil on Monday night on the one-year anniversary of the fatal shooting of Nazim Berry inside a Crown Heights bodega. Berry was shot and killed after police say he refused to give a man a free cigar. Authorities arrested 29-year-old Daquan David shortly after in connection with the shooting. Danette Hollie recalled her last moments with her son. “I feel like it just happened. My heart is still broken," said Hollie. "I can’t even explain the pain that I am in every day.” Nazim Berry’s family and friends say they will continue to keep his memory alive as they continue to seek justice.
