A longtime community center in Stamford is set to reopen Saturday after flooding forced the building to close.
The Lathon Wider Community Center will hold a free grand opening event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The building was shut down after a mechanical failure caused three feet of water to flood the basement.
The flooding forced out several tenants, including doctors, dentists, immigration services, a library and a day care.
Crews worked to repair the damage and prepare the center to reopen for the community.
