People across Long Island stopped at the
annual Bethpage Turkey Drive at Bethpage Federal Credit Union to donate a turkey, along with all the trimmings.
This is the 16th year of the holiday turkey drive to benefit Island Harvest Food Bank.
Organizers say Friday's collection drive set record breaking numbers for donated turkeys.
"It's absolutely amazing and it means a lot of fellow Long Islanders who had face not being able to have a good holiday meal will be able to sit down with their families for a good dinner meal," explained Randi Subin Dresner, of Island Harvest Food Bank.
Island Harvest says over 200,000 Long Islanders struggle with food securities.
Since November, the food bank has distributed 15,000 turkeys to families across Long Island.
