Republican Jack Ciattarrelli is trying to end Democrats’ eight-year reign in the governor's office. Democratic candidate Rep. Mikie Sherrill is trying to do something no candidate has done since 1961 – secure a third consecutive term for their party.
The campaign has been a no-holds barred race rocked by scandal and allegations of defamation.
A new Emerson poll shows just how close it is:
Sherrill: 49% Ciattarrelli: 48%
Joining Eric Landskroner to discuss the race is joined by Ben Dworkin, director of the Rowan Institute for Public Policy and Citizenship, Micah Rasmussen, director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University, Ashley Koning, director of the Rutgers-Eagleton poll, and Brent Johnson, politics reporter for NJ.com and NJ Advance Media.
