        Police: Waterbury man facing charges in death of 20-year-old woman, 4-month-old from Massachusetts in Hartford

        A third victim, a man in his 20s, was also shot. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

        A Waterbury man faces several charges for killing a 20-year-old Massachusetts woman and her 4-month-old son in Hartford Tuesday, police say.
        The shooting happened on New Britain Avenue around 2:45 p.m.
        Jessiah Mercado and Messiah Diaz were shot while in a vehicle after Lance Morales' vehicle pulled alongside of it and began shooting, police say.
        A total of three people were shot.
        Police received a report of a vehicle arriving at Hartford Hospital with multiple gunshot-wound victims.
        The third victim was injured, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
        The driver of the vehicle was not injured, police say.
        Police say it's not clear what led to the shooting.
        An arrest warrant has been approved for Morales and there are ongoing attempts to apprehend him, according to authorities.
        Morales's bond has been set at $3 million.
        His charges include criminal possession of a firearm, assault, two counts of murder and murder with special circumstances.
