Norwalk Public Schools recognized four staff members during a surprise ceremony Thursday, including Pauline Glee-Davis, who has worked in the district for 50 years.
Davis has held the position of in-school suspension aide at Ponus Ridge STEAM Academy for over 30 years.
Part of her role includes providing guidance and mentorship to students.
Davis began her career in the district by working as a home school assistant at Nathaniel Ely Headstart, followed by a librarian, a coordinator of early developmental learning and an associate teacher.
Davis says she is overwhelmed and did not expect to be honored.
Davis is also an alumni of Brien McMahon High School and Norwalk Community College.
She tells News 12 she has no plans to retire because she enjoys what she does and being around students makes her feel young.
Davis' colleagues who had more than 25 years of service were also honored during Thursday's ceremony.
