A Nassau County correction officer passed away at the age of 35.

In a social media post, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman confirmed Dylan Hussey passed away on Saturday.

Hussey served as a correction officer for over 11 years according to a statement from Pete Lilli, the Nassau Correction Officer Benevolent Association president.

"At just 35 years old, he had his whole life ahead of him. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss to our correction family and ask everyone to pray for his family during this painful time," stated Lilli.
