Gray start to Thursday before summer-like weather returns 

Showers stick in the short term, until this storm moves farther away.

FORECAST:
The local weather will remain cloudy, gloomy and even damp into early Thursday.
A weak coastal storm is sitting to our south right now. It will slowly drift away from the East Coast tomorrow.
The gray weather will slowly retreat as the summer-like sunshine moves in.
Temperatures today were cooler than average, but over the next two days high temperatures will come close to 80 degrees.
Friday looks like the warmest day before more quick changes happen over the weekend.
By Saturday, the crisp fall air will take over and give us a delightfully comfortable weekend.
The official start to autumn is Monday and next week, temperatures will be a touch warmer.

There is a new storm in the Atlantic. Tropical Storm Gabrielle has developed over the central Atlantic. Forecasts call for this storm to strengthen, but it does not threaten land. Stay with News 12 CT for more updates on our local weather and the tropics.
