Rye Playland officially opened its gates for the summer Saturday to celebrate its 98th season with the return of the Dragon Coaster.
The official opening happened a week after the amusement park held a soft opening on May 16.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins spoke at Playland's opening and cut a ribbon along with the Playland Team to reintroduce the coaster that was out of service for two seasons.
Many guests lined up to ride the rollercoaster, excited for the season despite the rainy weather.
Rye Playland is open Memorial Day weekend and will be in operation from Wednesday to Sunday beginning June 3 until Labor Day.
The Playland beach will open weekends and holidays through June 21 before beginning daily operations on June 26.
