The
three suspects charged in connection to the death of an 11-year-old found behind a home in New Britain last month appeared in court Friday.
Jonatan Nanita, Karla Garcia and Jackelyn Garcia made brief appearances in Torrington Superior court.
All three are charged in connection to the death of 11-year-old Jacqueline "Mimi" Torres-Garcia. She was found in a storage tote outside an abandoned home in New Britain. However,
authorities believe she died one year earlier.
All three cases were continued to December.
Jackelyn Garcia, Torres-Garcia's aunt, will be in court on Dec. 12.
The attorney for Karla Garcia, who is Torres-Garcia's mother, asked to waive her transport, meaning she will not physically be in court the next time her case is heard. Her attorney will appear in court on Dec. 19.
Jonatan Nanita, Karla Garcia's boyfriend, will next be in court on Dec. 16.
