Police have identified the woman killed in a Centereach hit-and-run as 73-year-old Marion Napolitano.

Investigators say Napolitano was driving east on Middle Country Road near Dawn Drive when her vehicle was struck from behind Saturday night. Her 50-year-old male passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the Land Rover that rear-ended Napolitano’s car was stolen, and was being driven by a 16-year-old boy who was high on drugs.

Investigators say the teen tried to run away, but was arrested by an off-duty Suffolk County police officer.

The teenager faces multiple charges, including driving while ability impaired by drugs, possession of stolen property and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. His name has not been released because of his age.
