And for our last main street, New Jersey of the year we are in West Orange. News from New Jersey's Lauren do is covering local businesses there. And first up Lauren, a bakery. Which one are you at this morning? A bakery, of course, Supreme Bakery with Team Supreme over here we have Richard. This is a great bakery, very lively this morning. Already had a few customers. How long have you been in the community for? This is a 55 year business and my dad bought it 55 years ago. It happened to be the last year that the Jets won the Super Bowl. Oh, man, we gotta get going again. There's always next year. It's been a long time. Yeah, but it looks really new. This looks great. The coffee bar really? We just added a new coffee bar this past year. We renovated. It's, it's kind of our belief that you have to always re invent yourself and, and reinvest in your business and reinvest in your community. And that's what we've done. And you are a huge part of the community too. What's your favorite part about being involved in the community? Well, I think what I love is when I see people come in who have been here, they, they came in with their grandparents. It's 40 years ago and they said my grandparents brought me here and now I'm bringing my Children here and I find that to be a lot of fun and, and also being a part of all people's great events. We're a part of Christmas. We're a part of uh baby naming baby showers, weddings. So it starts with the wedding to a baby shower, to anniversaries. So we're part of all people's good part of people's lives. And so are you open New Year's Day? Were you open Christmas? 365. It's incredible why you're in business for the doors to be open. Look at this. I want this for New Year's Day. These are huge, these pastries, I'm sure you can handle it. I'm sure I could too. I think Nick and Dara back in the studio can too. So you have a lot going on. You have the cupcakes, the cookies, the grab and go platters. We are one of the full line bakeries and not a lot of them left anymore. We make everything scratch on premises. I have 10 bakers in the back who are working very hard to make beautiful pastries for our community. Yeah. Tell us about team Supremes. Well, we're a group that cares about our community. We care about helping people and making people happy. That's the fun thing about our business is we make people happy. They come in with a smile. We hope they leave with a smile. Oh, it definitely is sweet in here, Richard. I appreciate it. We have some of the town council here. We got the business, uh, downtown here in West. Or just gonna be a really fun morning. It's starting off awfully sweet. We're in West or Angela and De in East New Jersey.

For the last main street, New Jersey of the year. We are in West Orange. Our Lauren do is checking out local businesses there. We had a little bit of a bakery to start the day and now where else would we be? Lauren? But a diner. Exactly what is more New Jersey than that? And Nick and Dara food definitely brings people together. We got a lively bunch here in West are just, we look how full this place is Jacqueline. So tell us about the Americana Di uh diner. Uh, the Americana Diner has been here for years. George has been the owner for about 10 years now. It's one of the few diners in New Jersey that is still 24 hours. Um, and still a diner. It's small. It's very clean phones, very family oriented. That's amazing. How, why do you think it lasted as a 24 hour diner? That's unheard of these days. Um, honestly, I don't know. I know it's, I know it's very diverse in the area. It brings up people from 280. It brings people from different highways, but it's a very popular place. I know you, it is really popular this morning too at 5545 AM. And c, you've been here forever. Yeah. It's time for me to retire out of this career. Um, this is very small, family orientated and I believe just the family orientation keeps us open as a 24 hour diner keeps us running and going. You're one of the waitresses here, right? For the last 18. Yes. That's amazing. You love interacting and we have Jose, you're the chef, right? What's your favorite thing to cook up? No. You know, all of it. All of it. The breakfast food. That's what I'm going for an omelet, you know, pancake, you know, saute everything, everything burgers, uh You know. Yeah. Uh chicken, chicken sandwich, chicken tuna salad, chicken salad, everything. That's what's so great about the diner. You can get anything you want, right? So let's go see what people are ordering this morning. Look at this. What did you get this morning? You got it to go back. Actually, I'm out here working right now. Oh, you're working a little later. Oh, ok. He's working. You're picking up, uh, you're picking up something. You uh, what do you ladies get this morning? I'm gonna get the Waffle Alamo. Oh, yes, yes. What about you? What have you decided? Lumberjack, lumberjack? All right. Lauren maybe you know what they say New Year, New Year taking D so here we go. We're at Vita Hair salon. OK. Laura, I thought the diner was very active but this might rival that this is great. Who do you have this morning? So we have all of our studies here. Mercy Melley Marina. We definitely got an early start today. And is it Mercy your mom? Mercy. So it's a family business. Yeah. So tell me about Vita. Uh so Vita came actually in Spanish and in we wanted to give life back to the hair to the skin. Besides doing color Bali Keratin. We also specialize in skin care treatments and we use a lot of innovative machines as well. Did you wanna go back and show everyone because this is, I mean, I walked in, I love the how bright it is, the smell, it smells amazing in here and all the decorations. Yes. Yes. So what is this? This is pretty unique Right. So, one of our amazing and most uh faces that we use is the Goddess Astrodome facial. It has led therapy also medical oxygen and a lot of uh serum infusions that we use. So it's for acne uh to open up the pores and definitely for anti Asian as well. How busy are you gonna be for the New Year? We've been pretty busy, actually waking up this early was OK for us. We'll be getting up pretty early around 830 in the morning or so. So that's how we get the. Do you have a busy schedule today? We do, we do very grateful. Our whole point is just to making sure the client gets experience and we're very close to them. We wanna make sure that they feel like they're family friends and we get very personal with them. I wanna make sure they really have a nice experience with us. I know and I already see everyone laughing and smiling and saying, can we put a microphone? What type of hairstyle are you gonna get this morning? I wanna get a blow out. Ok. Blow out. What about you? What are you doing this morning? I'm getting my hair straight. Oh and what about you? Same thing. We're just getting on the train and I know it, it's straight. The look, it looks like me and you, we we got the girl with the girls going. Hey, good morning. You're welcome. But everybody but we also have the mayor to give a shout out to the mayor. Mayor. How great are these businesses of West? So beautiful. This shop is so wonderful. We've been here a couple of times now, so I'm picking up all the literature to take with me. And for the last main street, New Jersey of the year we are in West Orange. Lauren de is checking out local businesses there. Time for a taste of light bulb. Coffee shop shows around Lauren. Yeah, exactly. Nick and dare you need a coffee break after running around town, Alex are making it happen. So explain the name light bulb. Where does this come from? Uh It relates to our community. Thomas Edison ties to the community and the history of it. Um The actual light bulb and most of the world was litten up from here. So we're here to light up West Orange with our coffee. You're so enthusiastic about your job. When did this all start? We started three years ago opened right in the middle of the pandemic. Um September of 2020 we're going strong still. We're still here. What was that like? It was a unique experience. Hopefully, no one else has to experience it anymore. Um You know, we're just glad we're here into a coffee shop. Is this your first business that you've opened up? Why did you pick coffee? Well, coffee is the first thing you think of in the morning and you know, why not start with something that everyone wants you. So, coffee is just right along my alley. I would say, I feel like I'm on autopilot when I wake up. I'm like autopilot to the coffee machine. Yes. But speaking of coffee machine, you have a really special coffee machine over here. Right. Yes. No, I mean, we, we, we can try that one day. So this is actually invented by Thomas Edison himself. Um It's the craft. So we found it online and we decided to actually have it at the shop in display so that it also ties Thomas Edison and ties the coffee. So it's just a perfect mix. You know what a unique coffee shop, right? Thank you. Thank you and Alex, you're outnumbered. By the way. Look at all of us. You got Mara the May you have Amy Michelle May all here this morning and May, what kind of coffee did you get this morning? I have a cappuccino and thank you so much for coming to our township here. This is and catching our energy. You look at this place. It's so beautiful. Hey, Alex really does that to the the slogan, right? Catch Catch The Energy. For the last main street, New Jersey of the year. We are in West Orange News. 12, New Jersey's Lauren do is covering local businesses there. And we got to say Lauren so far it seems like there's a lot of energy in West Orange to have you in town. Can't blame them at all. This. There is and look at this. This is a wiggle chair show, right? It's, it is a wiggle chair. An original wiggle chair is a chair and a wiggle chair was made. I think the original was back in the seventies and it's made from cardboard. It's made from cardboard. It's really sturdy and I would probably consider that a mid century modern piece. And um actually one of the focal piece in our store. I I love it and it's very hard to get to let go of it. And I don't think that there's so much we need to highlight here, Cheryl. So tell me about C MP Treasures. OK. C MP. Treasures were started back in 2017, primarily to provide jobs, activities and community inclusion. We're right here downtown West Orange for adults with autism and other disabilities and uh we've been in business for quite a while. We're very proud of our commitment and our accomplishments here in West Orange. And um we love being here and we love what we do. And you wanted it to be in West Orange and have adults from West Orange. They can see their community and interact with their community. Correct. Everyone kind of knows where we are. Uh they know our employees, our employees enjoy walking around. They go to have coffee at uh the local cafe. There's Walgreens, there's stop and stop and shop. No, not stop and shop. There's um a family dollar. So there are lots of different places that they feel included, feel a part of they're here in their community. Well, it's real quick. So everyone around because most of these are restored pieces, most are restored. Some are donated. Uh Some are, some are purchased. Um I have um this one piece here that is um a very old bench, uh painted gold and distressed. Another piece over here is the Yes, I know. I'm so sorry here, this room divider. Um We purchased it and uh we kind of refinished it here. Uh There's an old water jug that's here in the window that too was uh restored in uh overly distressed. We also have art piece too. We have, we have lots of art pieces and let's go back here to the art room and um uh look at some of the artwork So, uh we have everything from uh from Asian inspired. Uh We have this piece and I'm trying to figure, uh mm is it in here? I don't even know. We, we're trying to figure that out too on this one, this one is gonna be gone. So let's look at this one. It's, it's actually uh you know, in the opposite direction of how it, it said. And of course, we feature our artwork from our clients, right? So both of these were done by uh Sarah who is um AC MP employee and client and um they're for sale. So uh please come in and support us. Thank you so much for highlighting your business. Uptown is a promotional products company that connects with the local communities. So whether it's a business or it's government or folks looking to launch a brand, we put ink or thread on the products that they like. So we'll show you some of the things and you're drinking the coffee from the light bulb coffee shop with our buddy Alex at the light bulb. Yes. Look at this. This is so cool subway themed. And should we go in the subway? Sure. Yes. Mind the gap. Let's go in the township to hang out with. You. Got to give them a shout out. Here we go. This is so I've never seen this done. So this is pretty awesome. Thank you. Thank you. So this is thread. So if folks want us to decorate garments they bring in or we source them for him. This is where we make the magic happen. He's going to do a 360. But then you'll hear a little loud. What's the point of that? Yeah, you won't hear much. But there are run through hundreds of garments and really make them look pretty for folks. I'm gonna. Yes. But it's soft. Right. Yeah, it is. It is. So we get in. All right. So this is thread. So this is uh an organization near indeed to our heart. This is the West Orange Boys step team. So shout out to coach Ryan and the crew in here. We're preparing their 2023 2024 uniforms for another successful season. So over here is where we do those garments in house. Yeah. And then if things we got, we got the real quick wrap. But I really wanna show how you ship out the uh the products too, right? So over here last piece is, is the T Rico side which is Lin Manuel Miranda's official license brand. So family business, they had a Nicole but you don't, you don't sing. I don't, I don't sing. I got some moves but I do not sing in here is where we do all the fulfillment for the various the reports. So trying to do a little good in the world either making it directly for them or being in the back of the, of the, the room. It's fine and you put a heart on every package. I love, thank you so much. Before the last main street, New Jersey of the year. We are in West Orange and our law and do is covering those local businesses. Final spot this morning. Lauren is at a restaurant known for its tradition. Lauren tell us more. Yeah, that's right. N Nicholas Anthony, we have Nicholas and Christy. So tradition, why are you known for your tradition? Well, we're just a family, run a small operation. You know, me and my wife, a lot of our friends and family work here. We've been around the community for a long time and that we try to make everyone here feel like they're family. I feel like I'm family sitting out here at the bar. We have the whole township behind me, the here. And so Nicholas Anthony, how that whole name come about? Well, I'm Nicholas, my father was Anthony and my son's Nicholas Anthony. So we decided to name the place after him. My father and myself, you know, being as we are again, like, you know, a family type place. So totally fitting. Yeah, totally. You have all this food too because you're, you're the chef and can we bribe a little bit too Sure. So what was the award that you won? Oh, we got 88th in the country. Yelp. Uh in the Yelp's top 100 list for 2023 in the top country. Not just New Jersey. Ok. So if you wanna come here, do you need a reservation? Uh We recommend them on Friday and Saturday nights during the week. Easy come, easy go. But Friday and Saturday, we definitely recommend them. Ok. So what, what did you make for us? Uh Just a couple of things on our menu here. Uh We have our grilled romaine wedge salad, which is basically romaine wedge with tomatoes, bacon, red onion, uh C of blue cheese and blue cheese. Uh And it is our homemade meatballs. Basically, everything here is homemade from scratch. Uh You know, it's our typical meatballs and tomato sauce. Uh Here's our little neck clams. Uh It's clams in a white wine broth with bacon, uh cherry tomatoes, I'm sorry, cherry peppers, great tomatoes, arugula. And this is one of our more popular appetizers. Its zucchini fritter. It's basically um zucchini stuffed with mozzarella cheese. Riot, the cheese and Parmesan cheese. I've never heard of that. That sounds really good. It's very good. Uh This is one of our signature dishes here. This is our braised short rib. Uh It's braised for about six hours. Uh Then we put it in a garlic red wine reduction served with mushroom risotto and this one here is also one of our most popular entrees. Uh It's a chicken Angelina. It's a bread and chicken cutlet with a fried eggplant, topped with melted mozzarella cheese in a marsala wine sauce. And this is in our menu. We do have a regular pork chop on our menu, which is one of our specials. We do often is a pork chop jam. Bought. It's probably one of our most popular specials served with hot or sweet peppers and sliced fried potatoes. Ok. Nicholas. Hi, Christy. I'm gonna make you guys go get a sports mayor.
