The home of suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann is being searched for a fifth straight day.
Investigators were seen Friday removing a large object covered in a blue tarp.
Earlier this week, police removed multiple boxes, household items, electronics and a large format printer.
Heuermann’s home on First Avenue in Massapequa Park was initially searched by police in July of last year, following Heuermann’s arrest. The first search lasted nearly two weeks.
Heuermann is charged with the murders of four of the Gilgo Beach victims, Melissa Barthelemy, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Amber Lynn Costello and Megan Waterman.
Law enforcement officials have not said exactly what they’re searching for, or what prompted the new search.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney was at Heuermann’s home Thursday, but did not speak with reporters.
